Wine glass box FREE Design Space cut file

Today I have a free cut file for you!

Have you etched a wine glass as a gift for someone?

Well, here's a box for you to package your finished project in. This box is made entirely of free shapes from the Design Space image library.

And because stemless wine glasses are so popular now you'll find a cut file for both stemmed and stemless glasses.

And I've included 3 different lid styles!

The box is very easy to assemble. Just remember to only cut the pieces you need.

You can either hide the parts you don't want to use in the Layers panel, or just click on the layers you want to cut when you get to the cut screen.

The box section is in two parts so that it will fit on 12" x 12" cardstock.

The stemmed box when assembled is 3.25" x 7.25".

The stemless box when assembled is 3.25" x 5".

Here's what you'll see when you open the project.

If you want the glass shape to be cut from the box be sure to select the entire box and the glass and click Attach. If you don't want the glass shape to cut (so you can use it for any other purpose) you can hide it in the Layers panel.

You can add any shape to the box. Just remember to attach it!

Please feel free to use this cut file for packaging products you sell.

However, please don't share or sell the cut file. Please send your friends to this blog to get the cut file themselves. Thanks!

Here's the link to the Design Space file.

Using Bulletto Killa font in Inkscape

Bulletto Killa is a great free non-commercial use font available from Dafont.com. You can download it from here: http://www.dafont.com/bulletto-killa.font

It has similar swooshes to the Brannboll Font. However, the swooshes from Bulletto Killa dont work directly in Design Space. This is how youll be able to use them.

  • Click on the Text tool in Inkscape

  • Click on the canvas to see the cursor (Dont click and drag. Just click!)

  • Type your text

(You can zoom your screen in by pressing the plus key on your keypad)

  • Position your cursor inside the word (either use your keyboard arrows to move it or single click inside the word)

  • Click the down arrow on the list of fonts (top left of screen) then scroll down and select Bulletto Killa

Your text will change

  • Move your cursor to the end of your text and type an underscore _

You will get this result

  •  Type another underscore and youll get this result

  •  Type one more underscore and youll get this result

  • If you want this look type two hyphens after your letters instead

  • Once you have your text how you want it click on the selection arrow (top left of the toolbar)

  • Click on your word to select it if necessary

  • Click the Path menu, then Union. This will weld your letters together (so they dont cut as separate letters) and convert them to a path so that Design Space can read it.

  • Click File, Save As

  • Select a location for your file and give your project a name.

  •  Save as an Inkscape SVG (Or Plain SVG. Both will work.)

Youre now ready to import your word into Design Space.

Be aware, your word has been converted to an image. Therefore, you wont be able to edit the text in Design Space. (Or Inkscape for that matter.)

If you want to change the text you will need to recreate it in Inkscape.
There are two other versions of this font - Bulletto Molino and Bulletto Alto. You can get them from www.zetafonts.com

Cricut Adhesive foil project

**This post contains affiliate links and I will be compensated if you make a purchase after clicking through my links. The products used in this project were supplied by Provocraft. This is my honest review.

Here's a quick project I made using the Cricut Adhesive Foil.

The foil colour I used was Stainless Purple. The Cricut foils are a removable product so you can use them to create temporary labels or decorations.

They're easy to weed and much easier than vinyl to apply as they don't have as much adhesive on them. I found that transfer tape needed a bit of coaxing to stick to the foil.

I used a Make it Now project that was meant for a wine glass. Here's the link to the project: Wine Glass Decals Make it Now project

I hid all but two rows of decals, enlarged the remaining rows and cut them.

There is a Custom Foil setting but I bumped up the cut setting to Iron On Neon to get it to cut just a touch deeper. It's possible my blade is getting slightly blunt and this setting made it super easy to weed.

I placed it on a "Skurar" bucket from Ikea. Sadly you can't see the shine of the foil in my photo!

The foil comes in Gold, Silver, Stainless Gold, Stainless Silver and Stainless Purple and you can find it here:  Cricut Adhesive Foils

The Gold and Silver are super shiny and really have the same look as using foils in a Minc machine.

The rolls are 12" x 48" long and are currently on sale for $5.99 per roll. (Regular price is $9.99 per roll.)

I'm planning on using the foils and the Cricut Window Cling to decorate my windows for Christmas. (Assuming a bunch of Christmas elves arrive to help me!)

Happy foiling!
